Specialized Geriatric Services: Research and Evaluation
About the Research and Evaluation Team
The Research and Evaluation Team of Specialized Geriatric Services focuses on the development, examination and evaluation of current practices, measures and policies relating to the care of frail elderly. We are committed to identifying, developing and sharing better practices, to continuous learning and quality improvement and to the translation of learning into effective practice. By creating effective linkages with front line clinicians, researchers, policy makers, and community service providers, we strive to ensure that the best available information is integrated into daily practice.
The Team is part of the Aging, Rehabilitation, and Geriatric Care Centre (ARGC) of Lawson Health Research Institute. We work with health care providers and researchers at many sites including Parkwood Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre, The University of Western Ontario, Geriatric Assessment Outreach Teams through the Southwestern Ontario Geriatric Assessment Network (SWOGAN), and hospitals across Canada. The team works collaboratively with researchers locally, nationally and internationally to generate new knowledge in areas vital to geriatric care.
