Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care: Facts
Mount Hope is part of the St. Joseph’s Health Care, London family of services.
Our facility
- two towers connected by common spaces make up Mount Hope – one tower is called St. Mary’s and the other Marian Villa
- floors have wayfinding themes with distinctive murals and decor such as tropical or rural
- foot clinic and several other geriatric clinics located at Mount Hope
- Wellness Centre includes a physiotherapy gym and areas for recreation programs such as art and music therapy
- therapeutic garden located at the center of the facility
- rooms at St. Mary’s won an innovative design award
Our residents
- 394 residents make their home at Mount Hope
- 3 short-term respite beds are coordinated through the Community Care Access Centre. For more information call CCAC at 519 641-5522
- average admitting age is 86 - the youngest resident is under 30, the oldest is over 100
- residents under 65 make up 12% of population (MS, head trauma, mental health, developmentally delayed)
- active resident and family councils
Care team
- doctors and 450 staff members including nurses, occupational therapists, hysiotherapists, social workers, therapeutic recreation specialists, rehab assistants and spiritual care providers
- 150 volunteers support activities like pet therapy and crafts
