Sexual Assault

Any form of sexual activity done to a person without consent is sexual assault, and does not always involve physical violence. Verbal threats and intimidation or alcohol or drugs may be used to force someone to go further sexually than they agree to at that time.

Sexual assault is an act of power and control used to hurt and shame another person. If you have been kissed, touched or forcibly penetrated against your will, you have been sexually assaulted. It is a violent and serious crime whether committed by a stranger, friend, family member or partner.

Consider getting some emotional support or counselling. Counselling can be provided to you and your significant other after a sexual assault. Many people don't report assaults until much later; we can help whenever you decide to talk about it.
