RESPIRATORY THERAPY PROGRAM

Respiratory Therapy's main areas of focus are:

Neonatal ICU (Level Three):

  • Complete airway management
  • Independent ventilator management based on a multi-disciplinary care plan (Conventional, HF Jet and HF Oscillator)
  • Nitric Oxide therapy with Conventional ventilation and HF Oscillator
  • Non-Physician (RN/RT) neonatal resuscitation in the Neonatal ICU and Delivery Rooms
  • In-house transports
  • Physician and Non-Physician (RN/RT) critical care transports in collaboration with the Pediatric Critical Care Unit of the London Health Sciences Centre

Medical/Surgical Wards:
  • Administering inhaled medications
  • Assisting in the management of complex patients
  • Airway management at cardiac arrests


Teaching Respiratory Therapy Students:


Pulmonary Function Laboratory:
  • Diagnostic testing


Operating Room:

  • Technical support
  • Post-operative ventilator management
