LONDON REGIONAL OSTEOPOROSIS PROGRAM
CLINICAL PROGRAM

The clinical program of the London Regional Osteoporosis Program coordinates all of the activities of the basic science, clinical trials, rehabilitation, and therapeutic aspects for the care of patients with osteoporosis. The Program Director, Dr. A. B. Hodsman, together with the Laboratory Research Director, Dr. Laurence J. Fraher, PhD, Clinical Trials Coordinator, and Ann Kirk, RN, work as an integrated team.

Current Research Directives:

  1. Research inititatives

    a)     basic cellular mechanisms by which parathyroid hormone peptides exert an anabolic effect upon the skeleton.

    b)     Evaluation of new digital radiographic techniques for measuring bone mass in small animals, and subjects with established osteoporosis.

  2. Industry-sponsored contract trials in osteoporosis management
