Mission
Statement:
To promote
the discipline of family medicine through teaching, education, patient
care, and community service. To provide care through palliative care outreach,
family medicine, obstetrics, and geriatrics. Our physicians provide training
for medical student residents to encourage them to provide comprehensive
care to patients and their families.

Family
Practice Role:
Family physicians
are educated and trained in family medicine. There are over 200 family
physicians associated with both LHSC and SJHC collectively providing a
broad range of care to patients from newborns to the elderly in a variety
of settings (office, hospital based and long term care facilities).
