St. Joseph's Hospital Restructuring

preserving a legacy... building a future of excellence

St. Joseph's Hospital restructuring time lapse

Since 1869, St. Joseph’s Health Care London has provided its patients with compassionate and excellent health care for the mind, body and spirit.

From its meager beginnings, St. Joseph’s Hospital was an old home converted by the Sisters of St. Joseph into a 10-bed 24 patient hospital — today St. Joseph’s has 34 beds, admits 10, 447 patients, and has over 330,000 visitors through its outpatient care annually.

Building towards its future of excellence in ambulatory care and as a leading teaching hospital, St. Joseph’s is embarking on the last and final phase of redevelopment. This last phase is part of a city-wide initiative to create an integrated health care system in London, Ontario. For a look at London Health Sciences Centre’s redevelopment visit their acute care restructuring site.

This last phase of renovations to St. Joseph’s will renovate 70,000 square feet and build a 65,000 square foot addition, consolidating outpatient clinics, building a new pharmacy service and creating brighter and barrier free spaces for accessibility.

While St. Joseph’s façade has transformed and expanded over time, the care remains the same — providing an environment that fosters respect, excellence and compassion.
