Welcome to Volunteer Services
Volunteers are members of our community and are valued members of the St. Joseph’s Health Care, London team. Voluntary participation in the life of our hospitals is an essential component in assisting staff to provide high quality service to patients, residents, clients and their families.
Volunteering is reflected in many ways – from one-to-one visits, to aiding patients and visitors with hospital information and wayfinding, to working in the library or helping out with special events. A diverse group of over 1,500 volunteers support many clinical and non-clinical areas at our five sites. We are very grateful to our many volunteers who play a key role in enhancing the patient experience at St. Joseph’s.
Our Auxiliary and Volunteer Association partners are also important contributors to hospital fundraising. Through proceeds from the gift shops, vendor sales and other initiatives, volunteers raise much needed dollars to purchase hospital capital equipment and to support patient events.
Are you interested in becoming a volunteer? There are several steps involved in becoming a volunteer. All volunteers are thoroughly trained and attend a hospital orientation to help understand the responsibilities and learn the duties as a volunteer. Please visit the “becoming a volunteer” tab for more information.
