How to Become a Volunteer
Recruitment for volunteers at St. Joseph’s Health Care, London runs year round. Volunteers are required to make a minimum commitment of 6 months of volunteering.
How to Apply
1) Complete and submit an application package which includes:
- Application form
- Updated resume (optional)
Incomplete packages will not be considered.
2) If you are selected for an interview and offered a placement in our program, you must:
- Complete a mandatory immunization protocol (including a two-step TB test or a one step TB test if under the age of 20)
- Attend a volunteer orientation session
- Sign hospital privacy and code of conduct documents
- Attend additional unit/area training and orientation
Please note all applications are reviewed but, due to the volume of applications we receive, only those selected for an interview will be contacted. Application packages will be kept on file for six months.
Please mail, or drop off your completed package to the addresses noted on the application form.
Sample Placements
If you are selected for a volunteer position, you will receive a description outlining the duties and responsibilities of the service where you will be volunteering.
Listed below are some of the sample placements we offer at our five locations. You are required to make a weekly commitment of one day per week, three to four hours per shift. Please note placements are offered based on suitability and availability.
