Designated Smoking Areas
To create a healthier hospital environment, St. Joseph’s Health Care, London and London Health Sciences Centre have outdoor designated outdoor smoking areas (DSAs) at each facility.
Limiting the outdoor areas where smoking is allowed respects the rights of non-smokers not to be exposed to second-hand smoke, while at the same time recognizes the needs of those who smoke. As a health care institution we are committed to reviewing the need for designated smoking areas every few years.
The designated smoking areas (DSAs) are away from entrances and pathways used by the public. If you are a patient or visitor and smoke, please review the maps provided to see where the DSAs are located. Other than the DSA, smoking is not allowed anywhere else on the hospital property – including at entrances or in your car while on our property. Your health care team member will have information and maps for you if you need them during your stay with us.
Location of designated smoking areas
- St. Joseph's Hospital
- Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care
- Parkwood Hospital
- Regional Mental Health Care London
- Regional Mental Health Care St. Thomas
- If you are visiting any of our other facilities, for example the St. Joseph’s Family Medical and Dental Centre, please ask where smoking is permitted at that facility.
