Rodney Hancock

Rod was born in Galt Ontario and moved to London in 1969 to begin his post secondary education. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a PhD in Psychology and began his career as a professor and researcher in social psychology at Western and Brescia College in London. In 1979 Rod moved into the insurance brokerage business and currently is the President and CEO of McFarlan Rowlands Insurance Brokers as well as the senior partner.

He served as President of the London Insurance Brokers Association, President and Chair of the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario and Director of the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC). He achieved the Canadian Certified Insurance Broker designation and in 2014 was recognized by IBAC for “Excellence in the Advancement of Professional Development for Canadian Insurance Brokers”. He also served as an Independent Director of DAS Insurance Company. He is involved with of the YMCA’s Strong Kids program and the Children’s Art Therapy Program at LHSC. Currently Rod is a member of the IBAC Professional Development Executive and serves on the Non Medical Research Ethics Board at the University of Western Ontario.
