Dr. Allison Maciver

Dr. Allison MaciverBiography: I grew up in the St. Marys area. I attended Queen’s University in Kingston, Ont. where I received my Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology, and then went on to complete my medical degree at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University in London, Ont.. I did my residency in General Surgery at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, including a two-year Masters of Science in Experimental Surgery, becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in June 2014. My interest in the care of cancer patients and oncology surgery led me to pursue a Fellowship in Complex Surgical Oncology at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute – a National Cancer Institute-designated cancer centre – in Buffalo, New York. In 2016, I completed double board certification in both General Surgery and Complex Surgical Oncology in Canada and the United States. My research interests include patient-reported outcomes in surgery and the achievement of quality cancer care.
