Biography: I am an Associate Professor at the University of Western Ontario and have been the Chair/Chief of General Surgery for the past 3 years. I completed my undergraduate degree in Physiology and Pharmacology and medical school at the University of Western Ontario. After completing my rotating internship and residency at Western, I attended the Mayo Clinic in Rochester New York, where I completed a fellowship in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery. I returned to Canada in 1995, joining the staff here at Western. In 1997 I became the Director of Residency Training in General Surgery, a position I held for 8 years. I am also affiliated with the Lawson Research Institute and CSTAR with a special interest in laparoscopic and robotic surgeries.
