They are located in the downtown space at Parkwood Institute Mental Health Care Building, and in the Wellness Centre at Southwest Centre. The drop-in centres are open to all inpatients, and they are a safe and welcoming space, where patients can take part in many different activities.
Several special events are put on by Patients’ Council throughout the year including the Christmas open house, annual general meeting, and summer BBQ event (a partnership between Patient Council and Volunteer Services)
The Patient Council meets monthly, except for the month of August. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend. The Council often books guest speakers to present on a variety of different topics.
