Rehabilitation and Specialized Geriatric Services

Our Specialized Geriatric Services (SGS) includes a network of specialty teams in ambulatory, outreach and inpatient settings that specialize in the assessment, intervention, and management of older persons with functional decline, frailty, and complexities throughout Southwestern Ontario.

Other services include Driver Assessment and Rehabilitation Program (DARP), Neurobehavioural, Rehabilitation Centre (NRC), NeuroTrauma Rehabilitation (NTR), PossAbilities and the Parkwood Fitness Centre.

How are we doing?

97% of patients surveyed responded positively about the overall quality of care they received in our Specialized Geriatric Services and Rehabilitation Program (score based on most recent survey, January - March 2016). Our quarterly results are above the Ontario Rehabilitation average (see graph below). Internally, we also set goals related to percent excellent responses and monitor this against the target on a quarterly basis.

The Rehabilitation/Specialized Geriatric Services percent positive score is the percent of respondents that rated all dimensions positively (e.g., answered “Excellent, Very Good or Good” when response options are “Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor”). The number of responses for each quarter of reporting is shown below the quarter specified on the x-axis.
