Darcy Harris

Darcy Harris is an Associate Professor and the Thanatology Coordinator at Kings University College at Western University. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Central Florida (1981) and went on to achieve both a certificate in Palliative Care and Thanatology (1996) and her Masters in Counseling Psychology (1998) from Western. In 2008, she completed a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Psychology, Thanatology, and Women’s Reproductive Health from the Union Institute and University in Ohio. Darcy also works as an Adjunct Clinical Professor in the Faculty of Graduate Studies at Western, and she is a Registered Social Worker, maintaining a clinical private practice with a specialization in issues related to grief, loss, change, and transition. She is an author and lecturer and has published many articles, chapters, and books on the same. She is a member of the International Work Group on Death, Dying, and Bereavement (IWGDDB) and is the current Chair of the Ethics Committee of the Board.
