Dr. John Denstedt has been named Secretary-elect of the American Urological Association (AUA). He will hold this position from May 2018 to 2019, then he will become the Secretary of the Association and the Urology Care Foundation. Once Secretary, his role will include formally supporting the development of the Scientific Program for the AUA Annual Meeting, serving as Editor of AUANews, and representing the AUA to numerous domestic and international organizations.

An internationally renowned scholar in urology, in addition to his practice at St. Joseph’s Health Care London and serving as the Chair/Chief of the Department of Surgery from 2002-2016, Dr. Denstedt is a Professor in the Division of Urology at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University He has more than 250 published papers and book chapters; over 200 guest professorships in countries throughout the world; and numerous honors and awards, including being the first Canadian awarde d the prestigious AUA Gold Cystoscope Award.
