Rheumatology: Research

Research into many diseases is conducted by St. Joseph’s rheumatology health care teams.

This research includes performing randomized controlled clinical trials in areas such as ankylosing spondylitis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, scleroderma, lupus, Raynaud’s, and other connective tissues diseases. We have observational cohorts in early rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis patients receiving biologic drugs or changes in disease modifying anti-rheumatic drugs due to active disease, ankylosing spondylitis, scleroderma and lupus.

Our physicians are widely-known for their expertise and commitment to enhancing medical knowledge and patient care including: research, and teaching of peers, trainees and patients. Patients may be approached to participate in studies when being assessed or treated in the clinic.
