As an international leader in hand therapy, clinicians from St. Josephs Hand and Upper Limb Centre share their knowledge with care providers around the world through training opportunities like the Hand and Upper Limb Symposium held annually in the fall.
80 hand therapists from across Canada and the United States attended this years event and participated in interactive sessions taught by St. Josephs hand therapists and external delegates. Attendees learned of new hand therapy techniques in arthroplasty, wrist and elbow trauma and instabilities, advanced techniques in edema management and thermal modalities, as well as management of complex deformities of the hand. The symposium also featured, new products and their uses and a live surgery featuring a thumb arthroplasty.
