Patient safety is a top priority at St. Joseph’s. We continually ask our patients and their families questions and gather feedback so we can ensure they receive safe care. We have set goals in our strategic plan focused on patient safety initiatives including reducing the number of infections patients acquire while in our care, increasing our hand hygiene rates and preventing falls that result in injury.
Canadian Patient Safety Week is October 29 - November 2. This year's theme is, “Ask.Listen.Talk. Good healthcare starts with a question.”
During this week we are providing our staff and physicians the opportunity to view educational content provided by the Canadian Patient Safety Insitute and encouraging them to ask our leaders and each other questions about providing safe patient care.
