Karen Perkin

Karen PerkinKaren was appointed to the role of Vice President, Patient Care and Chief Nurse Executive for St. Joseph’s Health Care, London effective April 1, 2011. She held the position of Vice President Professional Practice and Chief Nurse Executive for one year previously. She possesses over 20 years in a variety of nursing leadership roles including operational leadership within intensive care and a surgical service and nursing quality assurance. The professional practice team serves both nursing with approximately 1400 nurses across five diverse clinical sites and numerous satellite programs and clinics and close to 400 allied health professionals. The acute ambulatory portfolio comprises approximately 400 staff members and 24 medical and surgical programs. In July, 2014, Pharmacy Services was added to her portfolio adding 75 pharmacy staff to the portfolio. Karen obtained her Masters of Science in Nursing from Western University in 1994 and her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Windsor in 1984. She possesses an appointment as Associate Professor Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences, Western University. Karen has published several professional practice and research papers, presented at a wide range of conferences across North America and has participated in teaching nursing students at Fanshawe College and Western University at the undergraduate and graduate level.
