Record sales benefit regional hospitals
While the weather may have cooled, Dream Lottery sales are staying hot. The lottery, supporting Southwestern Ontario’s regional hospitals in London, is anticipated to sell out on or before this Thursday’s Bonus Draw sales deadline.
To ensure the lottery only takes orders totalling the number of tickets authorized by the AGCO (Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario), retail sales locations will stop taking orders by the end of today. This includes participating Shoppers Drug Mart stores and the participating hospital foundations. If available, tickets will be sold at the London dream homes on Thursday. Ticket orders will continue to be available by phone at 519-488-7100 and on-line at dreamitwinit.ca until the lottery is sold out. Sales of the lottery’s Dollars & Destinations Calendar and 50/50 draws are also on record pace.
Calendars and 50/50 tickets must be ordered in conjunction with a Dream Lottery ticket purchase.
The 50/50 prize pool could exceed $1 million this week. It has already surpassed last Fall’s record $960,690 and is more than $970,000. Since there are unlimited 50/50 tickets that can be sold, Dream
Lottery ticket holders can buy into the 50/50 until the final sales deadline of July 5 – even if Dream Lottery sells out this week. Dream Lottery ticket buyers can order 50/50 tickets at the time of their Dream Lottery purchase. After buying a Dream ticket, 50/50 ticket orders can only be made by phone.
There are still a few Dollars & Destinations Calendar available, but only by phone. Once those are gone, orders can be placed on a wait list, in case calendars become available through an occasional, declined payment on existing orders.
Once Dream Lottery tickets sell out, the dream homes will close to the public in order to maximize net proceeds to the beneficiary hospitals. Dream Lottery has raised more than $31.8 million (net) since 1996 for innovative technology and equipment, ground-breaking research, and continuing medical education and training that enables doctors, nurses and staff to provide exceptional, patientcentred, life-changing care. Lottery details, including ticket prices, prizes, important dates and contest rules, can be found at dreamitwinit.ca.
