Dream Lottery officials are warning that Dream Lottery sales could close early with a sellout. With more than 90 per cent of tickets already sold and the final deadline just one week away at midnight, Tuesday, June 9, chances to get in on the draw are becoming limited.
“You’ll want to order your tickets now if you want a chance to become the region’s newest millionaire,” says lottery spokesperson Rita Fieder. There’s usually a rush to buy in the final week, so tickets could sell out before next Tuesday’s deadline.”
A ticket gives the purchaser a chance to win their choice between one of four fabulous Dream homes or $1 million cash. Home options include a London house, a London condo, a Grand Bend house, or a Toronto condo in the Fort York district. Each home choice includes a cash component. People can still see the homes in person. However, the homes will close early with a sellout and will remain closed after the final deadline.
Besides the homes, there are vehicles and vacation adventures to be won in the final draw - each with a cash alternative.
A ticket also offers the chance to win in the lottery’s Summer Cash Bash giveaway-a-day throughout July and August. Each day has a $1,000 giveaway, except for the “Shop and Spend Fridays” in July and the “Fly Away Fridays” in August when the prize values increase. That’s more than $81,000 in prizes that will be awarded in July and August.
Ticket prices are 2/$50, 6/$100, 16/$250, and 35/$500. For those buying the 35-pack, the cost works out to less than $15 per ticket. Tickets can be purchased at participating Shoppers Drug Mart locations, at the dream homes, by calling 519-488-7100.
June 9 is also the ticket sales deadline for the 50/50 PlusTM, where the winner will walk away with half of the prize pot that is closing in on $800,000 and is growing daily. Only Dream Lottery buyers can purchase 50/50 PlusTM tickets. 50/50 PlusTM tickets are 1/$10, 5/$25, 15/$50 and can be ordered at the time a Dream Lottery ticket is purchased. After buying a Dream Lottery ticket, 50/50 PlusTM tickets can also be ordered by phone at 519-488-7100.
“The biggest plus is that proceeds support our regional hospitals in London - positively affecting patient and family-centred care in our communities,” says Fieder.
The home-or-cash prize winner, as well as the 50/50 PlusTM winner, will be drawn on June 25.
