A powerful mental health advocate from south of the border will speak to a sold out audience at the 10th annual Breakfast of Champions. Patrick Kennedy, former US congressman and son of the late Senator Ted Kennedy, will share why we need to change the way people view and talk about mental health and addiction. He will also share his own journey of mental health and recovery as detailed in his recently released memoir A Common Struggle.
During the event, St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation will announce how funds raised through the event will support a significant breakthrough project – and Canadian first – focused on preventing suicide within our health care system.
The event will also shine a spotlight on individuals and organizations making great strides to advance mental health in London and region through the CMHA Middlesex Champion of Mental Health Awards.
At the conclusion of the event, members from the media will be invited to interview:
- Patrick Kennedy, feature speaker
- Dr. Paul Links, Chair/Chief of Psychiatry, St. Joseph’s Health Care London and London Health Sciences Centre
- Michelle Campbell, President and CEO, St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation
- Dr. Steven Harrison, CEO of the Canadian Mental Health Association Middlesex
