On Thursday grade four students from Lord Roberts French Immersion Public School are coming to Parkwood Hospital to participate with veterans in a game of trivia using SMART board technology.

The idea for the visit came from one fourth grader who learned the veterans were just starting to use SMART boards. An old hand at the technology, she told her teacher she’d like to help the veterans learn about SMART boards.

The veterans and children will form two intergenerational teams and face off in a battle of wits.

At Parkwood's Veterans Care Program, speech language pathologists and therapeutic recreation specialists use SMART board technology to assist with orientation, cognitive skill maintenance and leisure.

Media are invited to attend this SMART board show-down for an opportunity to speak with the veterans, therapists and children.
