Ms. Gita Canaran: Clinical Psychologist, Psychosis Program, Parkwood Institute Mental Health Care Building. 

Education: M.A., Lakehead University, 1994 (Clinical Psychology)
B.A. McMaster University 1989 (Honours Psychology).

Clinical Interests: Individual treatment of SPMI (Serious and Persistent Mental Illnesses) co-occurring with traumatic psychosis/complex trauma. Therapy utilizes a CBT for Psychosis approach and integrates other treatment modalities as needed, e.g. Mindfulness, DBT, EMDR, Schema Therapy, Mentalization.

Research Interests: Neurocognitive deficits in psychosis.

Services Provided/Type of Internship/Practicum Offered: Individual assessment and psychotherapy for SPMI clients within a Recovery based model.
