MEDIA STATEMENT - Reinstatement of Directive 2

St. Joseph’s Health Care London is developing a course of action in response to Ontario Health’s reinstatement of Directive 2 to pause non-emergent and non-urgent surgeries and procedures to preserve critical care and human resource capacity. This is a rapidly evolving situation and, with our health care partners, we are carefully assessing the needs in London and our region to ensure our health care system can accommodate needs as they arise during this current wave of the pandemic.

We will be providing information about changes to our services in the coming days.

Patients whose appointments are impacted by any change in services at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Parkwood Institute or Southwest Centre for Forensic Mental Health Care will be contacted directly.  Those patients who have NOT been contacted should attend their appointments as usual. This includes surgical and outpatient appointments at all sites.

Once again, we recognize this is a stressful time for our patients and everything possible will be done to meet the needs of our patients, including virtual care options where possible.

All COVID-19 pandemic information for patients, families and visitors is available on St. Joseph’s website. This information is being kept up-to-date as the pandemic evolves.

Thank you.
