The Parkwood Fitness Centre has been providing access to adaptive and guided physical activity to community members with mobility impairments and physical disabilities for over 20 years. Accessible physical activity and fitness is important for improving function, quality of life, and independence for those with disabilities, which is why the Parkwood Fitness Centre and Grey Centre for Mobility and Activity are working together to develop robust and accessible programming for our community.

We are currently operating the Parkwood Virtual Fitness Center (PVFC), which offers live virtual fitness classes to those with disabilities and/or mobility impairments.

The Parkwood Fitness Centre is getting a fresh start in 2024, beginning with a small pilot.

The Parkwood Fitness Centre is also offering the following programs

  • Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) Cycling
  • Parkwood Virtual Fitness Centre (PVFC)
  • Offering live adaptive virtual fitness classes to those with disabilities and/or mobility impairments

If you are interested in becoming a member or learning more about the Parkwood Fitness Centre, the Fitness Centre FES Cycling program, or the PVFC please contact Kinesiologist, Ariel Gavronski.
