Rheumatology Centre
Each year at St. Joseph’s Hospital, the Rheumatology Centre sees more than 10,000 patients requiring diagnosis and specialized treatment for a multitude of rheumatologic disorders, which are debilitating, chronic diseases of the muscles, tendons, joints, bones, nerves and connective tissues. The goals of the multi-disciplinary team are to reduce/prevent pain, disability, joint damage and to teach patients skills that will help them live active and satisfying lives.
The Rheumatology Centre provides:
- Leading edge medical treatment through our Rheumatology Clinic
- Comprehensive treatment and education programs through our Rheumatology Day Programs and Multidisciplinary Clinic Day
- Research to enhance medical knowledge and patient care
The Rheumatology Centre’s highly skilled multidisciplinary team includes: rheumatologists, a nurse practitioner, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, a social worker, a pharmacist, psychologists, and support staff.
