Yes, I want to help bring the newest breast imaging equipment to St. Joseph's
More than 24,000 people from across southwestern Ontario receive care at the Norton and Lucille Wolf Breast Care Centre every year. The team performs more than:
- 7,000 ultrasound exams
- 2,000 MR scans
- 2,000 mammography/ultrasound-guided biopsies
New advances in breast imaging technology have been discovered, and the team wants to bring the very best to the centre for patients – but they need your help!
Equipment Needs:
- (5) 3D mammography systems that combine contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM) with 3D mammography to better pinpoint lesions
- (1) CEM-guided and (2) stereotactic biopsy systems to ensure faster and more accurate biopsy procedures
- (6) radiologist workstations with ergonomically designed equipment
- (5) ultrasound units designed specifically for accurate imaging of breast tissue
- (2) contrast injectors to inject contrast media into the body to enhance the visibility of tissues
- (5) surrounding sensory suites providing soothing images and sounds as patients undergo their exams
- Software to analyze 3D mammography images rapidly and accurately
