The Possibilities Project

As people finish their stay at Parkwood Institute following a serious injury or illness they often require medical equipment and assistive devices that will enable them to successfully return to live in the community. But even the most basic needs are expensive and unattainable by so many patients and their families.

Chris Fraser, a former patient of Parkwood's Spinal Cord Injury Program, who later became a dietitian with the Regional Rehabilitation team, saw the need for a way to ease the burden of patients facing significant financial challenges to make their return to home possible. What began with Chris giving away her spare equipment soon evolved into the Regional Rehabilitation team’s mission to raise funds to support their patients in need…. the Possibilities Project Fund was created.

The Possibilities Project Fund aims to ease the financial burden of patients who have experienced a life-changing spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury or amputation. Your donation helps purchase medical equipment and assistive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, hospital beds, grab bars, shower benches, porch lifts and ramps necessary to enhance the independence and quality of life of people returning home.
