Academic Partners, Fieldwork Coordinators, High School Teachers & Clinical Instructors

ACADEMIC FIELDWORK COORDINATORS AND HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS

Welcome to partnering with St. Joseph’s Student Affairs to provide fieldwork and placement opportunities for your students.  Please reach out to Student Affairs so we can find a mutually agreeable time to meet with you (in-person or virtually) to introduce ourselves and review our mutual needs, processes and timelines.

SCHOOL-EMPLOYED CLINICAL INSTRUCTORS OF STUDENT GROUPS

Clinical Instructors hired by academic sites are a critical resource in supporting some of our student group placements at St. Joseph’s. This model is used for dental hygiene placements, nursing group placements and some personal support worker placement.

We have developed a Clinical Instructor Checklist to support your onboarding, review your accountabilities, and to support your offboarding.

HONORARIUM PROCESSES

Honorarium Processes

If you are an Academic Partner providing honorarium funds to preceptors for completed placements, please contact @email to request information about our centralized process whereby Student Affairs distributes honorarium funds to preceptors at St. Joseph’s Health Care London.

STUDENT PLACEMENT & AGREEMENTS

St. Joseph’s is proud to have partnerships with over 50 different academic partners. While we have a unique educational affiliation agreement with Western University, other colleges and universities are governed by the Southwestern Ontario Student Placement Agreement (SWOSPA). There are important terms within this agreement that guide placement processes, requirements and actions through the course of a student placement.

High school co-op placements require a Ministry of Education Work Education Agreement be signed prior to student placements.

If you have questions or are interested in establishing an agreement with St. Joseph’s, please forward your request to @email.
