Family and Caregiver Resource Hub

Resources for families and caregivers

When a loved one is living with mental illness and/or addiction, family members/caregivers are often among the first to provide support. This role can be challenging and emotionally demanding as mental illness and addiction affect not only the individual, but also those who care for and support them.

St. Joseph’s recognizes the vital role that families and caregivers play in recovery and is committed to supporting their wellbeing. A variety of resources are available to help family members and caregivers navigate the challenges of supporting a loved one while also taking care of themselves.

Family and Caregiver Resource Hub

Located near the main entrance of St. Joseph’s Parkwood Institute Finch Family Mental Health Care Building, the Family and Caregiver Resource Hub provides information, education and support tailored to the needs of family members, friends and caregivers.

  • Navigate St. Joseph’s services: Find information about the Mental Health Care Program at St. Joseph’s Health Care London, including clinic locations, patient programs and more.

Education sessions for families and caregivers

Supporting a loved one living with mental illness can be challenging, but you do not have to navigate it alone. St. Joseph’s offers free education sessions designed specifically for family members and caregivers. Education sessions are available to individuals, or families/caregivers of individuals who are currently receiving inpatient or outpatient mental health services through St. Joseph’s.

These expert-led sessions combine professional knowledge with the insights of people who have lived experience supporting someone with mental illness. Participants can learn practical strategies, discover available resources and connect with others who understand the challenges and rewards of the caregiving journey.

Education sessions are offered periodically throughout the year in a hybrid format (in-person and virtually) and offered at no cost, though advance registration is required.

*There are currently no upcoming education sessions scheduled. Please check back for future session dates, which will be posted here as they become available.
