Alex Lau

Alex Lau was born on the Island of Borneo in Malaysia to a family of second generation Overseas Chinese. He later attended high school in Singapore and Canada and obtained his university degree in Business Administration from the United States. 

Since immigrating to Canada in 1987 with his family, Alex has called London home.

Alex and his wife Alicia and their daughter Jacqueline and granddaughter Mischa currently reside in London. Their son Nathan age 23, resides in Toronto. 

In addition to his practice as a wealth management professional with TD Private Wealth Management; Alex has always been an avid community volunteer both locally and internationally. 

He was the youngest member of the board to be elected as President and subsequently Chair of the Chinese Canadian National Council – London Chapter. In 1997; with the help of a dedicated group of volunteers; Alex started the popular London Dragon Boat Race Festival that has raised more than $100,000 for various charities over the years. 

Alex has served on numerous Boards and committees of organizations including London Chamber Of Commerce, Bethany's Hope Foundation, Canadian Association Of Financial Planners Western Ontario Chapter, YMCA Western Ontario, Fanshawe College Board of Governors and London Middlesex United Way. He also volunteered internationally for Canadian Aid for Southern Sudan and The Water School. In 2012, Alex received the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Award for his volunteer work in the community. Alex looks forward to working with fellow volunteers in making a difference with the St. Joseph Health Care Foundation Board.
