Michelle Campbell

With more than 30 years of experience in healthcare development, Michelle leads a professional team of staff and volunteers in the engagement of community groups, corporations and individuals who wish to support the many clinical and research programs of St. Joseph’s Health Care London through private philanthropy. Under her leadership, the Foundation has grown to over $100M in total assets under management. 

Michelle has maintained a deep commitment both professionally and academically to her profession. She has designed and instructed multiple educational programs in professional fund development at Western University, Fanshawe College, and at the Fundraising Institute of Australia, where she taught in an annual professional institute for more than a decade. In 2007, the Fundraising Institute of Australia recognized her leadership in advancing fundraising education on the continent by making her an Honourary Life Member of the Institute (HMFIA), one of only five granted internationally. She currently serves as part-time faculty to Brescia College’s School of Social Sciences & Humanities where she instructs a course in Nonprofit Marketing & Fundraising.

Michelle has served on the International Board of Certification for the Association of Health Care Philanthropy, on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, and as President of the London & Region Fundraising Executives. She was recognized by her peers in 1997 with the Sirius Award for Fundraising Professional Excellence. Michelle has also been a Fellow of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (FAHP) since 1999, one of only 30 in Canada. In 2018, she attained her Masters in Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership (MPNL) from Carleton University, and currently sits on the Advisory Council for the program. In 2020, she achieved her ICD.D certification with the Institute of Corporate Directors.

In 2022, she achieved her certification as a Master Financial Advisor – Philanthropy (MFA-P) with the Canadian Association of Gift Planners.

In the community, Michelle has served in leadership roles with the Western Fair District Board of Governors, and the Covent Garden Market. She currently serves on the national Board for the Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference, and as a federal appointee to the Greater London International Airport Authority.
