Mental Health Care Patients' Council - Services
Coffee days
Parkwood Institute Finch Family Mental Health Care Building: Weekly: alternating Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 10 to 11:30 am in the downtown area; free coffee, snacks and an opportunity to socialize for inpatients.
Southwest Centre: Every Monday from 10 to 11:30 am on the inpatient units; free coffee, juice, treats and opportunity to socialize for inpatients.
Drop-in centres
The Patients’ Council, in conjunction with the Family Advisory Council and Volunteer Services, helps facilitate patient drop-in activities within the downtown area at Parkwood Institute’s Finch Family Mental Health Care Building and in the Wellness Centre at Southwest Centre. Drop-in centres are open to all inpatients and are a safe and welcoming space where patients can take part in many different activities.
The Patients’ Council also works in partnership with the organization and program areas to support or facilitate special and themed events for patients.
Monthly meetings
The Patients’ Council meets monthly, except during the month of August. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend. The council often hosts internal and external guest speakers to present on a variety of different topics and who may be seeking input and feedback from council members.
