A mentor, connector and role model

Patricia Hoffer, Chief Communications Officer at St. Joseph’s, has been named to the Mayor’s New Year’s Honour List

Congratulations to Patricia Hoffer, Chief Communications Officer at St. Joseph’s and one of 11 individuals named to the annual Mayor’s New Year’s Honour List celebrating members of the London community who have made outstanding contributions to the city in various categories.

Patricia was named for her far-reaching work to foster the arts in London through volunteerism that has benefitted multiple arts organizations.

With the London Arts Council, of which she is past president of the board of directors, Patricia helped steward the board through its evolution as a full governance body. She has also advocated for increased funding for the arts, championed diversity in projects and programs, and supported multiple projects, including the Grand Theatre's Women for Women Project.

As a past board member with the Forest City Film Festival, Patricia helped guide the organization through rapid growth and professional presentation in London.

A committed volunteer, Patricia is celebrated on the Mayor’s Honour List for her passion for helping the next generation of leaders and for being a mentor and connector within our community. In addition to her involvement in the arts, she has served on the Fanshawe College Board of Governors, London for All Leadership Table, Junior Achievement of London and District Board and Advisory Council of Trustees, Hutton House, and Ronald McDonald House Southwestern Ontario. She is currently on the Board of Directors of Goodwill Industries and volunteers behind the scenes with Indwell in support of its philanthropic and community development efforts to provide housing for marginalized people dealing with addictions, mental health challenges and disabilities.

In recognizing the 2022 New Year’s Honour List members, Mayor Ed Holder says each individual has bettered our community while serving as “brilliant role models” during a challenging year. “They remind all Londoners of what can be achieved when we dedicate ourselves to the pursuit of excellence with equal parts dignity, and grace.”

At St. Joseph’s, Patricia brings those same exceptional qualities, attributes and skills to her leadership of Volunteer Services, Care Partnership, Mission, and Communication and Public Affairs. Throughout the pandemic, she has played an integral role at various tables to help the organization navigate the continually evolving complexities of COVID-19 and its impact on our organization, our workforce, and on patients, residents and their families.

Recipients of the Mayor’s New Year’s Honour List will be officially recognized at the first meeting of City Council on Jan. 25.
