Stroke/Neurological Rehabilitation Program
Being an inpatient is just the beginning of a rehabilitation journey that continues even after patients are discharged. The length of time patients stay with us depends on the type of treatment they need. Within the first few days of their stay we work with them to plan their discharge, ensuring any community services they may need are in place when they return home.
This inpatient program has been specifically designed for individuals who have had a stroke or other neurological condition and would benefit from the expertise of a health care team to achieve their rehabilitation potential. The length of stay varies and is determined on an individual basis. A variety of approaches are utilized on a 24 hour basis to facilitate patient's progress towards improved function and independence.
Our primary mandate is to provide stroke rehabilitation for residents of London/Middlesex and will consider inpatient admission for stroke patients from Southwestern Ontario outside of London/Middlesex on an individual basis, based on bed availability, when an appropriate rehabilitation service(s) is not available or accessible locally.
