Trauma and Violence Specialized Primary Care Program - What To Expect
The Trauma and Violence Specialized Primary Care Program is grounded in the seven principles of trauma and violence informed care: trauma awareness, safety, trustworthiness, collaboration, choice, empowerment and equity.
Every patient interaction, procedure, and workflow is designed to reduce retraumatization and foster connection, healing and empowerment.
With a key focus on care for women and children affected by sexual assault, abuse, sex trafficking and intimate partner violence, the Trauma and Violence Specialized Primary Care Clinic will fill a significant gap in the community, particularly for racialized individuals, those with disabilities, immigrants and refugees, and 2SLGBTQIA+ people.
