Physical Therapy programs

Mount Hope offers physiotherapy which takes place in our Wellness Centre gym or one on one in residents’ rooms. Residents are seen by a physiotherapist shortly following admission and, if they wish, can participate in group or individual programs on their unit and/or by using the facilities of the Wellness Centre gym. Our Physiotherapist are trained to assess the need for mobility devices and make referrals for the appropriate interventions.

The Therapeutic Recreation team provides a wide variety of opportunities for residents to engage in  activities both on their own and with other residents, friends and families. Families and friends are welcome to join residents in these activities. Events include BINGO, entertainment, cards, community outings and other more innovative programs such as virtual reality and cycling without age.

Spiritual Care services

An on-site interfaith chaplain provides spiritual and religious care, grief and bereavement support, religious services and a variety of spirituality groups.

Food & Nutrition Services

Food and Nutrition Services provides food and nutrition services to the residents. Through the procurement, preparation and distribution of safe, high-quality food, we help the residents to have a pleasant dining experience in order to maintain and improve their nutritional health status and quality of life. Our 3-week menu is approved by our Registered Dietitian. Throughout the year, we also celebrate holidays and events with specially themed meals. We emphasize serving locally produced food year-round, and offer fresh, local fruits and vegetables when in season.
