Statement of Patient, Resident and Family Values
In 2024, we gathered our patient, resident and family input through surveys and focus groups to co-design our Statement of Patient, Resident and Family Values. This statement serves as a compass to our organization in partnering with patients, residents and family caregivers.
Earning my complete confidence starts with respect, excellence and compassion. It means always listening to me about what is important to my care and well-being.
Person Centered - I am one of a kind.
My dignity – body, mind and spirit – is upheld in every interaction I have at St. Joseph’s. You know me by name; you seek to know who I am and respond to my unique needs. You treat me with respect during the care I receive here, and my privacy is important to you. You ensure the culture at St Josephs’ is equitable, accessible, personalized and inspires trust especially when I feel vulnerable.
United - I am a partner with you through my care journey.
I feel heard because my voice is important to you. I am involved as an equal partner with those I choose to be part of my circle of care. I am fully informed so I can collaborate in the preferred choices about my care. I am empowered to make my own health care decisions and supported if those changes become different tomorrow.
Reliable - I can count on you.
I am confident excellent health care teams will deliver safe and compassionate care and services using well researched practices along with leading technology and equipment. I am thoughtfully guided through the complexity of the health care system. You effectively work with other health care providers, to ensure I have seamless care, and timely communication. My whole experience is important to you.
